About Our Festival

Marchington Village Festival was established in 2015 to unite our community and celebrate its many societies, groups and organisations. 12 groups participated in the inaugural 2-day festival in June 2016, including music, art, cultural and sport societies as well as the village school, church, shop, public houses and almshouses.

Activities included sporting and musical events, open gardens, flower festival, and art and craft exhibitions.

In 2017 the festival continued to grow, with 14 groups participating and more events, plus the addition of 2 evening events in a marquee funded by a lottery grant. This consisted of an evening of music, drama and comedy performed by local children and adults; and a family barn dance and hog roast. Both sell-out events were hugely successful and attended by all ages and social and ethnic groups of the community.

This year we are passionate and determined to make the festival even bigger and better than in previous years, with more events and activities including a vintage vehicle display, a photographic exhibition and competition and a duck run in the local brook!

COME ALONG AND JOIN IN THE FUN – THERE’S SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!!
